These logos for professional education organizations are artifacts that are indicative of the importance I place on professional development. As I grow and develop as a teacher I am sure I will increasingly utilize these organizations and it is good to be involved now so I can become familiar with what these organizations stand for, what they do, and what resources and benefits are specifically available to teachers through them.
The above logo represents the first organization I became involved with, the Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA). For the past year I have served as a co-treasurer of the PSEA chapter at Bucknell University. My responsibilities as an officer have included managing funds allocated for the biannual student teacher's panel and working to inform future teachers and educators.

Shown below is the logo for another professional organization that I was inducted into in the Spring of 2012, Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education.
This organization is beneficial because it connects me to other educational professionals all over the world to share ideas. At its core this organization promotes the ideals of scholarship, leadership, and service.
I believe that these artifacts as evidence of my participation in two professional organizations showcase my believe that no matter how many years of experience on has, with each new class of students a teacher is always learning. I believe that collaboration among educators in a school is key to creating a support network in which a teacher can continually work to innovate and grow, and membership in professional organizations such as the ones discussed above provide even more opportunities to grow and take a critical look at what is happening in education nationwide and world wide.
