Reflective Journal Entry- Observing a 1st and 3rd Grade Class
The following artifact is a reflection I wrote as part of my student teaching journal that compares my observations of a 1st and a 3rd grade class at Kelly Elementary to the Kindergarten class in which I did my student teaching.
This artifact is important to my content mastery competency because my experiences observing a 1st and a 3rd grade class for a full day each after spending so much time teaching and observing at the Kindergarten level helped give me a broader perspective of the expectations for students are at varying elementary grade levels, especially in terms of what content they are learning, the methods used to relay this content, and the pace at which they are expected to learn and become familiar with this content.
